I had been praying to die - to go home to God - to just leave this plane of existence. I just wanted the pain to end. My situation seemed completely hopeless. I had cried myself into exhaustion and surrendered numbly to despair. Then an angel materialized in front of me - a bright white candle extended out to me - and she said: Hope is the light God sends to see us through the dark times.
